Judge George Schiavelli (ret.)
Judge George Schiavelli was U.S. District Judge for the Central District of California. Before that, he served as Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge.
He sat by assignment in many appeals in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals and in the 2nd District Court of Appeal.
Judge Schiavelli graduated from Stanford University, and then received his law degree at UCLA, where he was first in his class. He then worked as an appellate lawyer for several prominent law firms.
He was a member of California’s Judicial Council Appellate Advisory Committee, and he co-authored California Civil Appellate Practice. (CEB, 3d ed.).
He has litigated and judged many intellectual property cases, involving patent, trademark, and copyright issues. He has also handled complex commercial cases, antitrust cases, trade secret cases, and a wide variety of other cases.
